GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ

With a bright mind and amazing literary talent, Gabriel García Marquez has been recognized as a greatest 20th century writer.

He was born in Aracataca, Colombia, in March 6th of 1927. He began his career as journalist working for newspapers El Heraldo and El Universal. In 1955 he published his first work La Hojarasca. Further on he wrote novels as Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Love in the Time of Cholera and One Hundrer Years of Solitude.
In 2002 he published his autobiography Living to Tell the Tale. García Marquez has been considered as a maximum representative of magical realism and by his grand work he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
He has lived in Europe and actually he lives in Mexico.

Gabriel García Marquez has become in an important representative of colombian literature because he has obtained change the image of our country with his work.
